The Between Time

December 28, 2022

I really do love the way the relative quiet after the holidays and before the year turns lets me be so productive.

And this year it's building toward some very exciting news I'll be sharing with you next week.

But it's also a great time to reflect. And for me, it's incredible to reflect on how far our campaign about cost of living and quality of life—a campaign about the priorities of actual Nashvillians—has come. And the challenges ahead.

We've raised more money than ever before, but we'll be up against even bigger money.

We've had dozens of successful events in living rooms and conference rooms across the city. But we know we have tens of thousands more voters to connect with.

We've built a team with talent I'm incredibly grateful to have earned, but it will be impossible to bring on everyone we know could be a great fit.

And we've focused on key issues from transit to trash and the trust it takes to govern well. But we know we're going to face attacks and distractions.

That's where you come in.

Every penny we bring in right now helps us plan our budget for the things campaigns need to do. The people we'd love to hire. The ways we want to support our volunteers. And the ways we'll reach more voters than ever before on TV, through mail, and digitally.

If you've thought about it and are worried about a large one-time contribution, don't be. You can join our wonderful sustaining donors who make monthly financial commitments.

But now is the time. We have a big year ahead, and I want our amazing team, our supporters, our investors to feel the same confidence I feel.

Please and thank you. And a soon-to-be happy new year!
